Pretty late with this post, sorry. We have had a very interesting few days. Here's how it went....
My water broke at 11am and we went to the hospital. By 2pm contractions really set in. I was only 2cm dilated though and 50% effaced. By 5pm I was in extreme pain and asked for the epidural. It was very painful. I think he was having trouble putting it in. I was a mess but it worked this time. I was so nervous about it not working again and having to do a natural again. I was so numb though, it was great! After the epidural I was only a 3 and 80% effaced. There was talk about an internal monitor but she came back to check me at 6 and I was 7cm and 100% effaced. I went from 7-10cm in 30 min and was ready to push. We had to wait on the dr to get there though. Luckily I wasn't in pain so I was fine with waiting. When my dr got there Jack was basically already there. I only had to push 2-3 times! It was awesome!
Baby Jackson was born on Sunday March 13th at 7:30 pm at 36 weeks. He was a bit early but he was an over achiever and weighed in at 7lbs 4.4oz and 19 1/2 inch long. He had some difficulty breathing at first and was very quiet. But I think that's just his personality. He also had a little trouble keeping his blood sugar and temperature regulated. We got to go home on Tuesday though. We were both ready. Emma met him on Monday and she immediately took to him. She is such a great big sister. Always helping and giving him kisses. Couldn't have asked for anything better.
Once home things were pretty chill. I was starting to think things were a little to good to be true and I was right!
Yesterday was a day from hell. Emma was climbing on the entry table and it fell on her. She broke her foot and has to wear a cast. They gave her a soft cast yesterday because the swelling was too high to put the hard cast on. The hard cast goes on on Tuesday. Until then we have to carry her everywhere though. On top of her breaking her foot I took Jack to his first doctor appointment. He had his Jaundice levels checked because he was looking a little yellow. The level was 18. Just high enough to where he would have to be hospitalized. So I came up to the hospital with him while he was on the lights and Mark stayed home with Emma. Jack has been under the lights since 7 PM last night and he had his levels checked again this morning and it went from 18 to 11. Luckily they are discharging us today in a few hours. Hopefully his levels don't continue to rise they will be checked again on Monday just to make sure.
Emma is in good spirits for the most part. Her and Mark are snuggle buddies right now. We will get through this. One day at a time.
I'll leave you with some pictures
